October 29, 2022 Ride Baby Ranch Harvest Host

We stayed at Ride Baby Ranch in Live Oak Florida for one night. We were greeted by our host, Tabby, Red (the horse) and a donkey. It was a quiet little spot and Tito loved it! He right away went in the pond and got muddy.  We hosed him off and he behaved after that.

The horses and donkey came right to our door and were very friendly. So was the dog. We enjoyed the birds (a king fisher, cardinals and house wren) as well.

A great stay!

October 24-29, 2022 Gulf Shores

Gulf Shores was so nice! The sun, bike rides, seafood and walks and beach were so nice! It was not hot - but definitely shorts weather. It cooled down at night for great sleeping weather.

First night we ate at DeSotos and had their trigger fish. We highly recommend it! Sorry - no pics.

The second night we ate at the original Oyster House.

Love Oysters!!

Crab! Shrimp! Mussels!  A fish boil! So messy and good! (At the Hangout)

A downy woodpecker

Kurt had a fabulous jambalaya!

We packed up most of the camper the night before we left because rain was in the forecast. Glad we did! Not fun tearing down in the rain!

On to Florida!

October 20-24 Wind Creek State Park, Alabama

Wind Creek State Park is located on Lake Martin in Alabama. It was a huge park, but quite quiet during the week.  We had a beautiful spot looking at the lake and listening to birds. The weather was perfect and we went on a hike every day.

On Saturday we met Bob and Terry Harvey at Oskar’s Cafe and had a great catfish meal while catching up. It was so nice to meet Terry!

October 16-20: Fall Creek Falls State Park, Tennessee

Sunday we left Bardstown and headed to Fall Creek Falls State Park in Tennessee. The colors were beautiful on our journey!

Fall Creek Falls is a wonderful State Park with nice sites, trails and a restaurant.  It was cold the few days we while we were there - a high of 60, 50 and 55.  But the sun shone and the colors were lovely.

Tuesday was super cold, so we cleaned the camper, did laundry and went to Pikeville for groceries.

After BSF on Wednesday, we went for 2 easy hikes.

Our water froze overnight because it was so cold - 27 degrees. Time to move to a warmer climate! Alabama here we come!
