January 28 we decided to leave Michigan and head for a snow free state! We were ready for blue skies and warmer weather!
The roads were snow covered and we were glad we were not pulling Beauty through the snow and salt! Travel was slow.
We finally saw blue skies in Indiana - but it was still cold! About 10 degrees.
We stayed in Bowling Green, Kentucky for the night and woke up to foggy skies and still snow on the ground - but not on the roads. There was ice on the trees and many large branches had snapped. These branches were cleared off the highway, but they were still on the sides.
The ice was beautiful!
We stayed in Valdosta for the night. Finally - no snow!! Still chilly, in the 60’s - but much warmer than Michigan!
Friday, January 30, we picked up Beauty and headed to Hart Springs. Thank you Craig and Angie for graciously allowing the rig on your property!
We arrived at Hart Springs and were happy to see everything was in working order! We set up camp, went for a little walk and headed to Suwannee Belle for dinner. It was too cold to sit outside, but the grouper was great!
Saturday, the temp was in the 50’s. We hiked at Hart Springs. The water is way low! No gators, no manatee. Very few birds as well, although we did see the Florida chicken and a couple pileated woodpeckers.

Monday, February 2, we went to Manatee State Park for a hike. It was chilly, but the sun was warm! Saw a couple of otters, an egret, a couple herons as well as manatee.
Yes, the otter are in this photo - just cannot see them under the water.
Tuesday, February 3, we went for a bike ride and walked the board walk by Hart Springs one last time.
Wednesday morning, after BSF, we packed up and are moving on to our next location, Topsail Hill State Park.
