Naples/Marco Island KOA, February 21-24

Friday, February 21 we made it to Naples. We set up camp and then went to visit my Aunt Pat. We did our laundry there while we ate a wonderful dinner and visited. It was a lovely time!

After dinner, we headed back to the camper and had a toddy with Gary and Kate Hertz who were also camping in the same place.

Saturday, we found a 3 mile hike and market..  Aunt Pat  had told us about this market and told us the oj and the orange ice cream was great.  We took her advice and got both - we were not disappointed!

February 22 is National Margarita Day - so we went to Amigo’s to have a margarita and dinner.

Sunday we had to move our rig to another site and then went to “church.”  Then it was time to soak up some ray’s by the pool!  Scott and Lisa VandeVorde got their cabin and then joined us by the pool. So good to see them again!!

For dinner we went to Island Gypsy. Quite the happening place! We put our name in and then went to the bar while we waited.  We met and talked to a few people who were so fun!  We ordered an ahi tuna appetizer while we waited and got a table after two hours.  Kurt got a fish sandwich and I got a Cuban sandwich.  Very good!  If you go - just be ready for a wait and have fun with it! We also ordered a piece of carrot cake to go. It was huge and yummy!

We were supposed to go boating with the Hertz family on Monday, but it was a rainy day.  So instead we went to Seed to Table - a grocery store you have to experience!  After supper, we went to Jim and Rhonda Dirette to play games. What a hoot!  They were all gracious to let us join in on their fun!

Koreshan State Park February 17-20, 2025

Monday we arrived at Koreshan State Park. We had a really nice campsite - we love State Parks in Florida!

Tuesday we decided to hike at Lover’s Key. You still see the effects of hurricane Ian - but a lot has been cleaned up.

Following our hike at Lover’s Key, we did a hike at the Koreshan State Park. We learned about the beliefs of the Koreshan cult. One belief was that the earth was concave. It was very interesting.

After cleaning following our hikes, we went to our favorite restaurant in Fort Myers and ordered our favorite whole yellow snapper.  So so yummy!

Wednesday, after I was done with BSF, we decided to go to Lakes Park for a walk.  Well, Wednesdays are market day. It was crazy busy and no where to park. So we decided to ditch that idea and go to Six Mile Cypress Slough. It was busy there too! We did find a parking spot though and walked the boardwalk.

For dinner we went to Coconut Jacks and enjoyed fish dinners. Very, very good food.

Thursday we went back to Lakes Park to walk.  It brought back good memories!

For dinner, we went to Pezzo Pizza and Bar.  We both ordered a small pizza and it was soooo good! It reminded us of true Italian pizza!

A good few days around Fort Myers!

Hart Springs RV Park, February 8-16, 2025

We arrived at the Hart Springs RV Park on Saturday, February 8.  After we were set up, we went to one of our favorite restaurants, Suwannee Belle!  Always delish!

Throughout the week we hiked in the campground, hiked at Manatee State Park, went biking on some nice trails, kayaked and ate out.  We had beautiful weather!  On Sunday it rained and cooled down - a good day to do a little laundry and clean the camper before leaving the next day.

Another favorite! Came here again for Valentines Day.

Cedar Key clams at Suwannee Belle! Best clams ever!

Palo Duro Canyon State Park, Texas. March 1-6, 2026

February 28, we traveled to San Angelo State Park.  We only stayed 1 night to travel on to Palo Duro Canyon State Park.  We went out to eat...
