This Fall, Kurt and I decided on a different adventure. Rather than taking Beauty and the Beast, we opted for a Mediterranean Cruise. We left Grand Rapids at noon on Monday, October 7 and headed to Rome, Italy. We landed in Rome Tuesday morning at 8:20am. Shawn Compagner, our travel agent from Dream Travels, had vans ready to pick us up and take us to our hotel - the Traiano Hotel.

We stopped for some pizza, a beer and an Aperol Spritzer. So yummy! Pizza’s in Rome are much tastier than American pizza!
It was starting to drizzle and rain was predicted, so we headed back to our room to check in and take a little rest. Then - back to the streets of Rome and out for a light dinner at L’Antica Pizzaria Di Trevi. Kurt ordered a tasty minestrone soup and I had a Greek salad. We shared red wine and finished our meal with tiramisu.
We walked back to our hotel and settled in…but jet lag messes you up, so here I am, blogging at 1:15 in the morning. More adventures tomorrow in Rome!
