We left on time today. The weather reports told is there would be high winds starting around 11 or 12. We left at 9:45. We entered Colorado and enjoyed the beautiful mountains.
It was pretty hazy as we travelled due to fires in New Mexico. We had a lot of wind as we travelled - butade it safely to Colorado Springs. After we set up we head inside Beauty and watched the news. A high fire alert was in effect due to the warm weather (85 degrees), dry weather and high winds. There was a fire that started 25 miles north of us. The winds were getting stronger (gusts up to 65 mph). We hunkered down in Beauty and watched the news.
We were not worried about fires by us - we just rocked and rolled in the camper. The winds have calmed down and we hope to go up to Pikes Peak tomorrow.
