March 29, 2022

We left Zion with very low clouds - you could not see the tops of the mountains.

We travelled through snow, sunshine and rain.

The Northern part of the Kaibab Forest

The Vermillion Cliffs - and sunshine!

The Colorado River

The mountains near Flagstaff - too cloudy to see a thing.

We got to our campground, went for diner and came back to this rainbow.

March 28, 2022 - back in Zion

It was a bit cloudier and cooler today. We had hoped to hike the Narrows, but the current was too strong and the water a bit high, and were advised that it would be tough and scary. So we opted out. Instead we hiked the Watchman Trail - a nice moderate trail.

At the top of the trail. “I’m on the top of the world looking down on creation…” 🎶

The red rock was the top of our hike…it doesn’t look as high up as we thought.

After our hike we went to hike the Riverwalk near the Narrows.  As we hiked toward the Narrows, we saw one young gentleman (about my height) who had submerged in the water and being helped down the trail to get dry and safe.  Glad we opted out.  Maybe another day when the mountain snows are not melting.

After our hike, we cleaned up and walked to dinner, but first stopped at the Bumbleberry Hotel where I stayed with my family when I was 15.  Wanted some Bumbleberry pie - but the bakery and restaurant had burned down and they were rebuilding it. But we did buy the jam!

Pothoven Family - this will be served at HH when we get back to the mitten! 😋

We then ate dinner at Oscar’s Cafe. Very good.
Tomorrow we head to Sedona for a few days.

March 27, 2022 - Bryce Canyon

We left this morning for Bryce Canyon.  Traveling thru Zion was amazing as well!

As we got closer, we started seeing snow.

Red Canyon - going into Bryce.

Getting ready for our hike in Bryce Canyon

Saw this Jay on our hike.
And this Dark-eyed Junco

My iPhone did not capture the color as well as my camera, but the camera was getting heavy on my neck…but it still captures the memories!

Our hike route - not easy, but so good!

Palo Duro Canyon State Park, Texas. March 1-6, 2026

February 28, we traveled to San Angelo State Park.  We only stayed 1 night to travel on to Palo Duro Canyon State Park.  We went out to eat...
