We picked up the Masts and took them to the airport this morning at 9:30am and said our goodbyes.
We went back, brought the rented van back, got groceries, did laundry and cleaned the camper. Kyle texted their flight was delayed, but now we're on the plane.
At 2:08, Kyle texted:
"Well… didn’t leave because they couldn’t load our bags. Now the flight crew exceeded their daily limit. Getting off the plan now. Need to rebook."
Kyle called at 3ish and said they had a hotel and needed a ride to the hotel. Into the Beast and back to the airport. We crammed into the Beast and brout them to their hotel.
Needless to say, Spirit is not customer friendly. They offered nothing when they got off the plane - just a flight for the next day. Kyle requested a hotel.They said they could not find a hotel under 30 miles from the airport. Kyle found one - $50 more than what they wanted to spend. They did offer food vouchers for in the airport, but with 3 kids, that was worthless because they needed to leave the airport and get to their hotel - they had already been there 6 hours. Bottom line - don't fly Spirit.
But the good news is, the kids rode in the Beast and we went out for a great dinner at Philly's Sports Grill where the boys could play bags and get out some energy. Making lemonade out of lemons! 🍋
Tomorrow we hope their flight will have no problems and take off on time.
